And yes, after I read it, I did look up a survival website, and have just purchased enough canned food and waterproof matches to last me a while. I hope the author can erase that kind of thinking, if it was intended, because this is the best book I've read in a long time. But I'm not sure even that mentality explains the prejudice in this book.
